“Recently had some light landscaping done with the replacement of some Christmas Palms that died this past freezing Winter we had. Also had them remove dead ones as well. They are very flexible to meet different size budgets. I will have them do my next project which should be a new backyard 'makeover'.”
How the job runs
Walk the yard
We note sun, shade, soil and drainage, and talk through what you want.
Design and estimate
A planting layout and itemized estimate for plants, soil, sod and materials.
Install and hand over
We prep, plant and finish the beds, then tell you how to water while everything establishes.
Florida is hard on yards
- Plants that fail in the ground
- Many big-box tropicals struggle in Brevard's sand, salt and afternoon sun. The right plant in the right spot is most of the battle.
- Yards with no plan
- Plants added one at a time over years rarely add up to a design.
- Too much upkeep
- A landscape that needs constant trimming and replanting costs more every year than it did to install.
Landscape Design & Renovation questions
What plants do well in Brevard County?
Coontie, muhly grass, saw palmetto, silver buttonwood, firebush, beach sunflower and sabal palm handle our sand, sun and salt with little help. Near the beach, sea grape and sea oats take direct exposure.
Do you install irrigation?
Yes, with the irrigation work done by a licensed trade. We design planting around the water you have and group plants by water need.
When is the best time to plant?
Most plants can go in year-round here. Late fall through spring is easier on new plants than the peak of summer heat.
Which grass should I choose?
St. Augustine for sunny yards with regular watering, Zoysia for a finer, denser lawn, and Bahia for large, low-water lots. Shade often calls for groundcover instead of turf.
